Paediatric Dietitian / Child Nutritionist
A child's nutrition is the foundation for a healthy and thriving life. Our HCPC-registered paediatric dietitian is committed to empowering children and their families with the knowledge and tools to make informed dietary choices. Children have specific nutritional requirements that differ from adults. We understand the unique needs of growing bodies and developing minds. By working with us, you can be confident that your child's nutritional needs will be addressed in a safe, effective, and age-appropriate manner.
How We Can Help with Child Nutrition
Individualised Nutrition Assessments. We begin with a comprehensive assessment of your child's dietary habits, growth patterns, medical history, and any existing health conditions. This detailed evaluation allows us to identify potential nutritional gaps and develop personalised dietary plans tailored to your child's needs.

Personalised Meal Plans and Recipes Based on the assessment, we can create customised meal plans that take into account your child's likes, dislikes, and dietary restrictions. These balanced and nutritious meal plans are designed to support your child's growth, development, and overall health.

Picky or Restrictive Eater Solutions. Is your child a picky eater? Perhaps having eating issues related to ASD? We can help parents navigate the challenges of picky eating and also ARFID - a more extreme avoidant or restrictive eating pattern. ARFID is not driven by concerns about body image or weight. Instead, it is driven by sensory, texture, taste, and sometimes even past negative experiences with food. Through gentle and practical strategies, we can help expand your child's palate and encourage healthier eating habits.

Weight Management and Healthy Growth. Whether your child needs support in achieving a healthy weight or maintaining optimal growth, we offer expert guidance and evidence-based recommendations, focussing on promoting a positive body image and instilling healthy habits from a young age.

Managing Food Allergies and Intolerances. If your child has food allergies or intolerances, such as milk, egg, gluten, or soya, we will work closely with you to create a safe and nutritious meal plan that avoids trigger foods while ensuring proper nutrient intake. We can also work with you to navigate The Milk Ladder - an evidence-based guideline for the home reintroduction of milk and dairy products into the diets of infants and children with mild to moderate cow’s milk allergy, known as a ‘non-IgE mediated’ milk allergy.

Nutritional Support for Childhood Conditions. We provide specialised nutritional support for children with specific health conditions, such as gastrointestinal issues, constipation or diarrhoea, diabetes, coeliac disease, iron deficiency, special needs, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), demand avoidance, ARFID, anxiety, depression and more. Our tailored approach aims to improve your child's quality of life and overall health.

Nutrition Education for Families. We believe that educating families is the key to sustainable change. Jo offers valuable insights, educational resources, and practical tips to help parents make informed choices and instill healthy eating habits in their children.

Functional Medicine Nutrition for Children. We are committed to helping children thrive by addressing the root causes of health issues and fostering lasting well-being. We believe that every child is unique, and their health concerns should be approached comprehensively. Functional medicine is an evidence-based practice that looks beyond symptoms and considers the whole child – their genetics, environment, lifestyle, and nutrition. By focusing on the underlying imbalances, we can better support your child's health and development. Our approach is grounded in scientific research and evidence-based practices, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your child.
